I work full-time as a freelance editor and writing coach, helping writers draft and revise book-length manuscripts of fiction and nonfiction, but I’m also open to working on shorter projects or in other genres—personal statements, website copy, podcast scripts, etc. Below I’ve outlined, broadly, the kinds of services I offer, but shoot me an email with any inquiries, and we’ll discuss more specific arrangements!

PERSONALIZED coaching

• Weekly video meetings or phone calls to discuss your writing

• Weekly feedback on your drafts

• Reading suggestions

• Discussion or instruction about various aspects of writing craft

DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING

• Attention to overarching elements of the draft, such as character development, pacing, argument, plot, etc

• Suggestions on what the draft is missing or what can be cut; how a chapter, or the book as a whole, could be structured

• Direct, specific questions to help you identify and untangle parts of your draft that are confusing or need to be re-articulated

PROOFREADING & COPYEDITING

• Attention to line-level issues in the draft, such as grammar, punctuation, word choice, verb tense, etc

• Helping identify and correct poor word choice, inefficient syntax, redundancies or inconsistencies in the text
